Erica graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Originally from the lower mainland, some of you may remember meeting Erica here as a student. She is thrilled to be back as a full-time veterinarian, and looking forward to reconnecting with our clients and the pets she met before, and meeting the rest of you! Erica will be married this September – her husband-to-be and family are from Aldergrove.
Erica is proud to have volunteered for both 2 and 4-legged charities, Christmas Morning Outreach and Critter Care Wildlife Society. When away from providing compassionate veterinary care to our clients and patients, Erica enjoys her canine best friend Kosh, her horse Page, and hiking, reading, spending time at her family cabin, and travelling. Erica will be working closely with Dr. Jeff Bowra and the rest of our team to provide the wonderful patient care and exceptional service we strive for at Aldergrove Animal Hospital!
Dr. Tanya Neville

Dr Tanya Neville was thrilled to join the Aldergrove Animal Hospital team in February of 2017. After graduating from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011, she gained excellent experience at a practice in Cranbrook, BC.
Tanya enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine from educating pet owners and helping them choose appropriate preventive health care for their pets to treating complex medical cases and performing dental surgery.
Tanya's 2 legged family includes her husband Jason and her son Logan. Their fur family includes dogs Abby, Ginger, and Noki, cats Stewie and Eddie and a rabbit named Corkscrew, When not at the clinic you can find Tanya camping and hiking with her family, riding her dirt bike or reading a book. She also enjoys skiing or snowshoeing during the winter.
Dr. Ricky Lau

Education: Massey University & Atlantic Veterinary College
Ricky received his bachelor of veterinary science from Massey University, New Zealand in 2018. He has since worked as a general practitioner in a private practice in Auckland, New Zealand before moving to Prince Edward Island for further training as a small animal rotating intern at the Atlantic Veterinary College. Ricky has a strong interest in small animal surgery and is keen to further develop his skills in the expertise.
Outside of work, Ricky loves hiking, playing video games and basketball. He lives with his partner, who is also a veterinarian, and two rescue kittens, Maple and Fern.

Dr. Tatjana Mirkovic

Dr. Mirkovic hails from Manitoba. She received her DVM in 2000 from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. She then completed an Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the Atlantic Veterinary College, University of PEI in 2001, followed by a Residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Mirkovic became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2004.
Since returning home to Canada in 2004 she worked as a specialist in small animal internal medicine in private practice for seven years at a large referral only specialty hospital in Vancouver. Currently she has her own mobile consulting business where she travels to general veterinary practices to consult on complicated internal medicine cases, and perform a variety of special internal medicine procedures such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy, bone marrow and joint tap procedures which all are part of the specialty of internal medicine. Her practice is limited to internal medicine problems of dogs and cats. She works closely with your own family veterinarian to help treat complicated medical problems.
Dr. Mirkovic lives in Port Moody, BC. In her spare time she enjoys spending time in the great BC outdoors, cycling, travelling and spending time with her two best friends; her husband and her Black Labrador Edward.
Dr. Mark Smith

Dr Smith completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Guelph. He graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in 1992 and spent 6 years in small animal general practice. He completed a one year small animal medicine & surgery internship at OVC and one year surgery internship at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists in Orlando, Florida. He then completed a 3 year small animal surgery residency and master's of Veterinary Science at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons was attained after a rigorous examination process.
He has provided a mobile surgery service in the lower mainland since 2003. Special Interests include orthopedics, minimally invasive surgery, soft tissue reconstructive techniques. He has enjoyed working with Dr Bowra and his successful rehabilitation therapy team since 2003.
Head Veterinary Technologist

Education: Thompson Rivers University
Kazuko is our head technologist who started at Aldergrove Animal hospital in 2005 right after graduating from Thompson Rivers University. Kazuko enjoys all aspects of being a technologist, and she especially loves to develop strong bonds with her patients and their parents. As the resident "Oldie", Kazuko helps to ensure Aldergrove Animal Hospital runs smoothly.
Over the years, Kazuko has lived with numerous dogs and cats. She currently shares her home with her husband and son along with their senior cat, Sophie. Sophie is enjoying her retirement years by lounging on her favourite bed and eating Royal Canin Renal Support food to help manage her kidney disease. When not at work, you can find Kazuko enjoying the outdoors with her family and taking nature photography which her husband proudly hangs on their home walls.

Cassidy started working with Aldergrove Animal Hospital back in 2015 after completing her Veterinary Assistant program at UFV. During her time here she filled numerous roles including receptionist, veterinary assistant and surgical coordinator for specialty procedures. This furthered her interest in animal care and led her to expanding her education and completing the Registered Veterinary Technician program at Douglas College. After graduation Cassidy spent the next 2 years working in an emergency/specialty practice where she took a special interest in anesthesia and radiograph cases.
When Cassidy isn't in clinic she enjoys spending her time outside walking or hiking, hanging out with her Bulldog/Boxer cross Brinkley, playing board games and visiting friends and family.

Alexis joined our team here in May of 2019 after completing her veterinary assistant program at UFV.
Alexis spends most of her time in the treatment room assisting the doctor and technicians. She enjoys talking with clients and getting to know their beloved pets.
Outside of work Alexis spends her time with family, friends and of course her 4 legged family members. She enjoys camping, off-roading, skiing and just spending time with her dogs Zoey (Border Collie), Rocki (Bernese Mountain Dog) and her newest member of the family Kona (Pitbull).
Amanda joined our team in May of 2019 after completing her Veterinary Assistant Certification course at the University of the Fraser Valley. She shares her life with 3 pets: A Border Collie named Jack, a senior Cocker Spaniel/Poodle named Rani, and a young Domestic Medium Hair feline named Xena!
When Amanda isn't at work, you can find her going on adventures, outings, and hikes with Jack, watching movies, playing soccer, and taking photos!
In her near future, Amanda would love to broaden her knowledge about nutrition and behaviour to help pets strive to be the healthiest and happiest they can be.

Tammy joined our team here in January of 2016. She started out working with us as a Veterinary Assistant in 2002 and is now our Practice Manager, splitting her time between Aldergrove and Dr. Jeff's clinic on the North Shore. She has collected many pets along the way and her diverse animal family has given her real life pet ownership experiences that allow her to relate to the concerned and caring pet parents at Aldergrove Animal Hospital.
Tammy enjoys talking with our clients, hearing stories about their furry friends and helping them choose appropriate services and products for their pets. She is currently known at our clinic as the proud mother of Paddy (Shih-Tzu), Bradley Montgomery (handsome black domestic shorthair), Motley (classic tabby domestic shorthair), Shelby (three legged Staffordshire Terrier), and Ryah (Alaskan Malamute.) In her time off from work she enjoys volunteering at her children’s school, baking, listening to music and travelling with her family.
Val joined our team in February of 2021. She spent many years as a stay at home mom raising her two boys and helping with the family business. In her spare time she also trained dogs on a regular basis including clicker and agility training, and dog boot camps. Val did a number of years volunteering in the community which was very fulfilling but after her boys had both graduated she wanted to do something different and decided to fulfill her dream of working with animals and joined our team at Aldergrove Animal Hospital.
In her spare time she loves to hike, bike and get some quiet time in the garden. Over the years she’s had many pets, several dogs, cats, birds and fish. At home now she has a five year old Aussie doodle and two new kittens, fish and several gecko’s. Val is very happy and proud to be a part of the Aldergrove team and looks forward to a fulfilling and wonderful career
Lead Client Care Representative & Nutrition Advisor

Heather joined our team in 2017 after completing her Veterinary Assistant program. Having always loved animals she felt this was the perfect career to switch in to. Heather loves being part of the Aldergrove Animal Crew and has taken up a special interest in the nutritional aspect of the veterinary world. She has completed numerous CE courses and will have earned her Nutrition Advisor Certification this February 2021. Heather is a strong believer in dietary education and wants to help our clients choose the best and most healthy diet for their pets. Heather runs our weight loss program for pets and is always happy to help another pet regain their healthy lifestyle by just trimming down a few pounds as this can make a huge difference in the life of the pet.
Heather loves assisting and helping in all areas of the clinic but is passionate about making sure when you walk into aldergrove animal hospital you and your pet are treated like family. The relationship between the client and clinic are very important to Heather and she loves making sure everyone is happy when they leave the clinic with their pet.
At home Heather is the proud owner of two adorable shih tzus, Sara and Chloe and a gorgeous long haired cat named Lily. She enjoys time at home with her family, gardening, watching movies, and going to the beach.
