Rehabilitation

Assessments and treatments to help your pet recover from certain conditions.

Pet rehabilitation focuses on physical therapy to keep your pet fit and healthy. While many pet illnesses are treatable with medications or surgery, they may not be suitable for all cases – that’s when physical therapy is useful. When our patients require rehabilitation to improve their quality of life, we refer them to The SPAW Rehabilitation Centre. The staff is knowledgeable, and the entire facility is focused on recovery for your pet. Give us a call at 604-856-7707 to determine if your pet’s condition can be improved with rehabilitation.

When might rehabilitation be recommended for my pet?

The goal of rehabilitation is to get your pet back to their normal health. Here are some conditions that may benefit from rehabilitation treatment:

  • Chronic pain
  • Obesity
  • Arthritis
  • Neurological conditions
  • Orthopedic injuries
  • Post-op recovery

What rehabilitation procedures may be used on my pet?

After assessing your pet’s condition, our team will recommend a form of physical therapy that will yield the best results for your pet. Some rehabilitation procedures that may be recommended are laser therapy, underwater treadmill, and therapeutic exercise or massage therapy. These treatments will help prevent other injuries and minimize muscle loss. They can also reduce pain and inflammation.
